The Department of Mathematics offers Master of Arts, Master of Science, doctoral and certificate degrees in the field. Students receive support and individual attention throughout their experience, from navigating challenging coursework to planning for thesis research. Many mathematics graduate students round out their studies with professional opportunities, from internships and research projects at Washington, D.C., institutions to networking with speakers during weekly on-campus events.

Registration is now open for GW's 2025 Columbian College of Arts and Sciences (CCAS) Graduate Programs Open House! The virtual event features program-specific information sessions and opportunities to interact with current graduate students, faculty and our admissions team.

The Math Department will host a virtual information session for prospective graduate students on Tuesday, October 21 at 4 p.m. EDT. Attendees will receive an application fee waiver.
