Title: Knot theory and parallelizable manifolds
Abstract: In this talk we will introduce various research topics and a book produced by the knot theory group at GWU. We will then focus on an exploratory talk on parallelizable and stably parallelizable manifolds and end on a discussion about how knot theory can be used to prove Stiefel’s theorem; all orientable 3-manifolds are parallelizable.
