Abstract: In this talk, we will discuss how to use Renewal Theorem to show the prime orbits theorem for hyperbolic flows. 

The prime orbit theorem counts the number of closed orbits for the hyperbolic flow, 

It is an application of the tools that we developed in previous discussions of Gibbs measures   

We will start from one of the most important hyperbolic flows, the geodesic flow on hyperbolic surfaces.
