Title: Spectral Ergodic Theory V

Abstract: In previous lectures we have discussed spectral ergodic theory for locally compact abelian group (LCAG) actions (notably, actions of Z^d and R^d). Now we embark on stating and proving the spectral theorem for unitary representations of LCAG’s, which provides a complete invariant for spectral isomorphism. In particular, we discuss two forms of the spectral theorem, and the the unitary equivalence of any representation to a certain kind of multiplication representation. We will begin with graduate student presentations.
