Title: Symmetry and quantum symmetry in noncommutative algebra
Abstract: In this talk, we will discuss how to understand symmetry in algebra. While symmetries of a commutative algebras are captured by group actions, it turns out that the symmetries of noncommutative algebras are not fully captured by groups. Actions of Hopf algebras yield additional "quantum" symmetries of noncommutative algebras. We discuss these topics, as well as potential generalizations.
