We will discuss various issues on mathematical modeling of mixture flows.
The equations are characterized by the role of density gradients and unusual constraints on the velocity field.
Coming back to a coupled fluid-kinetic description of the flows, we derive a hierarchy of models that generalizes the Kazhikov-Smagulov system.
We exhibit some stability properties of the system.
