Title: Using Numerical Continuation to solve large systems of nonlinear equations in an industrial application.

Abstract: I will motivate the need for numerical simulation (including solutions of large nonlinear systems) in the design of integrated circuits, then present a practical alternative to the conventional approach using Newton's method. Numerical Continuation finds the solution to an n-dimensional system as the end-point of a path in (n+1)-dimensional space. Some rather sophisticated Real Analysis can be used to show that the method is guaranteed to find a solution.
