Title:  Isoperimetric type inequalities in geometry and algebra
Abstract: .A beautiful isoperimetric inequality was know to Ancient Greek. It claims that the ball has the biggest area among all planar domains with fixed length of
the boundary. This inequality has many interesting geometric generalizations. Very surprisingly, there are analogous inequalities in algebra. Corresponding
algebraic inequalities deal with numbers of solutions of different generic systems of polynomial equations in several complex variables.

I will talk about such inequalities and about other relations between
Algebraic and Convex Geometries. This talk will be accessible to graduate
students.
